What is the law?

Before You Buy Tint In NY

New York measures visible light after film is installed. In practical terms, added darkening film on NY front door windows or the windshield is usually not legal because most factory front glass is already close to the 70% VLT limit. SUVs and vans may have darker rear windows, but the front doors and windshield still need to meet 70%.
